White Mountains – New Hampshire, U.S.A. Nothing beats the colors of New England foliage in autumn. Typically at their peak in mid October, the fiery oranges, reds, and yellows adorning the trees are stunning.

This year, we narrowly missed the peak near our home in southwestern New Hampshire, so hit the road for the White Mountains to catch whatever was left. One thing we have learned is that the arrival of fall sweeps across New England in a south-easterly fashion. this means that if you miss the peak in one place, you are almost sure to catch it elsewhere by traveling a little further southeast. We were in luck.
